5 Coffee Drive-Thrus on the South Shore (That Aren’t Dunkin’ Donuts)

We’ve already established that I don’t like Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.  Despite this, I still find myself there from time to time because they are so darn convenient.  They are all over Massachusetts. I’ve been known to get an egg and cheese English muffin sandwich  for the wee one when we’re in a pinch.  I’ll do anything to avoid a hunger-induced toddler tantrum.

Plus, when you’ve got a sleeping kid in the backseat, you’ll pretty much do anything to keep them in dreamland, including drinking sub-par caffeine.  Am I right?  Don’t worry, friends, I’m here to help.

My two favorites in the bunch are Marylou’s Coffee and 1st Stop Coffee.  Marylou’s Coffee is particularly easy to spot while driving due to its hot pink signs, parking spot lines, cups…everything is PINK.  The coffee comes in a ton of flavors: cinnamon hazelnut, white chocolate, milky wey, pumpkin spice, maple walnut…I could go on for days.  Hot or iced, it’s made exactly the way you want it.

I discovered 1st Stop Coffee on the way to Rexhame Beach in Marshfield one hot day this summer.  They also have a bunch of flavors and their iced coffee is served over that awesome crunchy Sonic-style ice.  Yes!

If by some small chance you happen to be on the South Shore when the urge strikes, you can refuel at one of these local (or national- hi Starbucks!) coffee shops.
